Special Recognition in Design for Impact

| Design Concept Biu Biu is specially designed for intermittent catheter users, addressing the cleaning, disinfection, storage, and lubrication needs associated with repeated catheter use by providing a one-stop catheter care solution. Through electrodes and electrochemical redox technology, it instantly converts saline into an efficient and safe sterilizing solution for catheter rinsing and disinfection, reducing bacterial residue and the risk of urinary tract infections. At the same time, it incorporates a dedicated lubrication structure that allows the catheter to be lubricated quickly and evenly, enhancing user comfort and minimizing contamination during handling. The overall design features a simple, standardized process to help users easily complete daily catheter maintenance, improving the quality and safety of home care. | Background of the Issue Rising Use of Intermittent Urinary Catheters According to research from the Netherlands, the number of intermittent catheterization (CIC) users rose from 92 per 100,000 people in 1997 to 267 per 100,000 in 2018, an increase of 192%. Trends in Rehabilitation! Intermittent catheterization is currently regarded as one of the preferred bladder management methods in many fields including urology, neurourology, and rehabilitation medicine. It is often used to replace some long-term indwelling catheters, especially in patients who require long-term urinary management.
