Botanica Sales Gallery
Special Recognition in Architectural design
Inspired by Zen philosophy, the Botanica Sales Gallery explores spatial versatility and the duality of weight and lightness. The design challenges conventional boundaries by integrating residential show units within an open-plan layout. This intentional optimization allows dual-functionality: operating as a commercial headquarters while hosting the Thailand Biennale 2025 exhibition, free to the public. By bridging retail and civic-cultural space, the architecture proves that infrastructure can be inherently fluid, accommodating diverse narratives without compromising its integrity. The design utilizes dual-geometry: a tactile exposed-concrete podium anchors a sleek, rectilinear volume of Low-E glass. This juxtaposition pursues 'nothingness'; the glass dissolves the mass into the tropical sky, transforming the building into a transient extension of the horizon. Beyond this, the project is an exercise in tectonic precision. By adopting industrialized methods—steel frames, cellular beams, and precast slabs—it demonstrates that structural efficiency is essential to grace. The gallery proves that material honesty, operational precision, and environmental stewardship, synthesized within a tight 5-month construction schedule, can converge into a timeless contribution to the architectural discourse.
