At the heart of Villahermosa, Casa Roca is conceived as an introspective retreat where architecture is anchored in its essentials: stone, water, and a monumental tree that informs both structure and daily life. Two monolithic and brutalist volumes define the composition, enclosing the vertical circulation core and a pool that becomes the focal point of the program. From this axis, water flows gently, infusing the spaces with a natural rhythm that conveys serenity and connection with nature. Although embedded in the city, the house establishes a private ecosystem: outward, blind façades secure privacy; inward, spaces open to frame foliage and modulate light. The spatial sequence unfolds as a continuum: the ground floor hosts intimate realms—bedrooms and a family room—in quiet seclusion; the upper floor lifts the social areas to meet the tree’s trunk and brush its canopy through three circular domes, which filter daylight and allow the architecture to weave directly with light and leaves; a third level devoted to lifestyle & fitness completes the journey—a place to restore body, mind, and spirit in close connection with the canopy and the surrounding landscape. A palette of stone, rustic woods, and absolute black heightens formal purity and contrast, balancing minimalism, brutalism, and quiet luxury. Beyond function, Casa Roca offers a near-ritual way of dwelling.
