Viereck Architects have created the new High Tech Office Building, a forward-looking office building that combines the demands of a high-tech workplace with employee wellbeing and innovative design. The project reflects the client’s vision as a technologically advanced energy company with strong regional roots. The architecture merges high-tech minimalism with parametric aesthetics. Rounded corners, a floating upper volume, and a finely perforated aluminum façade create a modern, lightweight appearance. Functional yet expressive, the building symbolizes the connection between technology and nature. Its façade consists of laser-cut aluminum panels with a parametrically generated perforation pattern inspired by Austria’s river landscapes, referencing the client’s hydropower expertise. Automated folding elements adapt to sunlight and environmental conditions, creating a dynamic, water-like surface that combines performance with architectural expression. Large windows maximize daylight while integrated shading prevents glare and overheating. At the heart of the building, a light-filled atrium with a sculptural terracotta staircase promotes communication, orientation, and collaboration. The interior design draws inspiration from water, using shades of green, turquoise, and blue to create a calm atmosphere. Terracotta accents add warmth and identity, while stainless steel and wood balance technical precision with natural comfort, resulting in timeless, human-centered spaces.
