Imagine the architectural diagram in a state of “swelling”; a condition in which the "open plan", combined with the architectural "raumplan", leads to the realization of this “swelling.” In this process, the slabs are fragmented, level differences are introduced, and ultimately spatial separation is achieved not through the agency of dividing walls, but through slabs positioned at different elevation levels, which are interconnected within a single unit by stairs. To better illustrate this concept, imagine Le Corbusier’s Dom-Ino diagram, in which spatial articulation occurs solely through the connecting staircases and landings, yet with a transformation in the scale of the architectural elements. This “swelling” generates spatial conditions in which visual continuity is constantly maintained throughout the space, while physical accessibility is not necessarily guaranteed. This spatial organization operates within the unit itself, and in order to sustain repetition and continuity, each module complements the others through a puzzle-like system, creating the conditions for adjacency and repetition.
