The revitalization of the Museum's plateau transforms a degraded access route into a vibrant, multi-functional urban oasis that seamlessly blends historical heritage with contemporary public life. Situated in the historic city core along the path to the Danube River, this revitalized space achieves a delicate balance: it remains functionally and visually subordinate to the Museum while operating independently as an inclusive public area.The plateau serves as a dynamic cultural hub, hosting contemporary outdoor art exhibitions and social events, while offering a peaceful retreat. It acts as a safe haven for diverse community groups, from students to families, creating a lively social fabric around the museum's cafeteria.Architecturally, the project respects the strict preservation requirements of the Museum’s iconic, heritage-listed socialist brutalist facade. Rather than competing with the monumental structure, the design fosters a sophisticated material dialogue. Transparently formed concrete benches of contemporary design were introduced, subtly echoing the original raw concrete aesthetic. This choice injects a sense of airiness, weightlessness, and modern beauty into the historic space.This project deserves recognition because it provides an exemplary model for the sustainable regeneration of modernist heritage. It honors historical architecture while breathing new life into a passive exterior, turning it into an inclusive, aesthetic, and living urban landmark
