STAWIAMY_ is an educational and research initiative developed at the Faculty of Architecture, Warsaw University of Technology under the leadership of Professor Anna Maria Wierzbicka. Since 2023, the project has engaged students in the design, construction, and implementation of temporary architectural pavilions in public space. Based on the principle of learning by doing, the initiative enables students to gain hands-on experience while developing creativity, technical skills, teamwork, leadership, and social awareness. Participants take part in every stage of the process, from concept development and fundraising to construction, transportation, assembly, and public presentation. This approach teaches responsibility, collaboration, and commitment to the common good. STAWIAMY_ promotes sustainable development, circular design, material reuse, and environmental responsibility. By addressing real-world challenges, students learn how architecture can respond to social needs and contribute to more inclusive and resilient communities. The initiative has produced a series of pavilions, including the Pavilion of Freedom (2023), Pavilion of the Future (2024), and Pavilion of Community (2025). Implemented in cooperation with cultural institutions, public spaces, social organizations, and local communities, these projects demonstrate how architectural education can extend beyond the university and become a tool for social engagement, innovation, and positive change.
