In the Arbing district, a new daycare center with one nursery group and one kindergarten group is being developed by the Reischach administrative community. As converting the former village school proved structurally unfeasible, a new building was constructed on the same site. The plot is located on the western edge of the village and features a height difference of approximately five meters. This topography is reflected in the architectural concept: the building follows the slope in staggered levels, forming an L-shape in which the roof of the lower floor serves as a level outdoor play area for the upper level. The elongated building volume is inspired by the region’s traditional agricultural structures. The gabled roof references the familiar architectural language of the surroundings, while a green-glazed timber façade integrates the building harmoniously into the landscape. Carefully placed recesses in the façade emphasize entrances and key functional areas. Inside, wood defines the spatial atmosphere. Green box elements integrated into the furniture add playful accents. The asymmetrical roof geometry remains perceptible, creating bright, airy spaces—an environment that conveys both a sense of shelter and openness.
